Review: Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964) (January 2016)

Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964) - al out monster mash!!
By 1964, the character of Godzilla was becoming an anti-hero/friendly monster to Japan. In Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964) (released the same year as Mothra vs Godzilla [1964]), Martians take over the mind of a Princess (Akiko Wakabayashi) in Japan. She can predict things like the coming of monsters: Rodan (from Rodan [1956]), Godzilla and King Ghidorah (who hatches from a flaming meteorite!). She is in trouble as agents and an hitman are after her in a James Bond-like plot!

Also, in the midst, we get to see the Larva Mothra (aided by the twin fairies: The Shobijins) who must take control of the fighting Godzilla and Rodan and convince the warring monsters to team up and defeat Ghidorah! Will Mothra succeed or will the earth be torn apart in this Sci-fi-Monster Mash?

Ishiro Honda would return to direct to BIG G sequel. Another blockbuster of a creature-feature! Great special effects and creative looking creatures from Director of Special Effects, Eiji Tsuburaya.

Followed by: Invasion of the Astro-Monsters (1965) - HERE!
