REVIEW: Umbilichord (2018) & Undertaker (2018) by 1i2c (July 2018)

Umbilichord (2018): an interesting little short from 1i2c, now... This was played last Month at Son of Darkfest in London and is a Black & White Short Film set to a Disturbing Industrial Soundtrack Score! It was also shot around London, itself! We follow actress and film-maker Emma Dark (keeping her cool as she struts) pushing an old-fashioned Pram through a quiet-looking park on a summer's day! People are curious, on-lookers are curious by the sight of Miss Dark's so-called offspring in the push-chair as she struts her stuff! In the midst of all this, some strange lab experiment is going off in the Narration which leads to a Bizarre and unsettling conclusion.

I liked the Silent approach to the film-making via 1i2c. There are a few twists, too... but my lips are sealed!! Nicely shot photography and use of wide-angle and low shots make Umbilichord cinematic for a low-budget film, but enjoyable!!

Meanwhile, Undertaker (2018) takes a silent approach to the soundtrack! That is until things start to happen. The silence broken by crow sound effects as there is a Graveyard with a young woman, dressed in black in mourning! The soundtrack picks up as we see a grave-digger aka The Undertaker (played by John Whitaker) start to uncover a grave! Again, the visuals are disturbing! Great panning ariel shots of corn-fields and crucified victims ala Jeepers Creepers' Creeper-style! The Undertaker here, is making human scarecrows and up to no good!!

Both short films are enjoyable and worth checking out... "1i2c is 1-2-watch-out-4"!! Great casting and visuals, greatly Creative!! Watch out... films are to be released online in Future and at Festivals!!

Videography and editing by Nicolai Kornum. John Whitaker provided the Scores and also Produced both films, too.

MUSIC: Ray Redd - Fold In On Myself (Official Video) (June 2018)

Ray Redd has a new official, Music Video online called, "Fold In On Myself". The young film-maker and musician wrote a track and made a music video after a break up. The video and his music has gained many views on Youtube and looks like a new direction for the Western Australian. I personally see this as a personal video from the youngster also known as film-maker, Bayden Redshaw. The style is very hip and underground, but credit must go to Ray Redd. The talented Redd/Redshaw also made a fun horror short recently, called CLOWN NIGHT (2018) - which is a 22 Minute Found Footage Horror with a style, much like The Strangers (2008). Keep up the Good Work, Bayden Redshaw!

Youtube Shooter Was Not Transgender!! (April 2018)

Tragedy struck this past week at the Youtube HQ in America. A then unknown armed woman broke into the building and injured and attempted to shoot employee workers of the popular Video Sharing website: Youtube.com. I just want to offer my thoughts and sad thoughts and future positive vibes to the workers who were just innocent bystanders in another senseless killing spree in the USA. I'm not bashing on America, but laws need to change about fire arms and their sources to the public.

The shooter was named Nasim Najafi Aghdam. A female youtube video maker who had enough of the Youtube company. It was as simple as the website censoring her content online on Youtube. Now, we all face Big Business disapproval sometimes from time to time. It could be copyright from Youtube or a video not Monetized? However, this senseless violence needs to stop in any language or country.

Deeper still, the shooter was dubbed as "Transgender" on some social media platforms! This is NOT TRUE and has angered the LGBT Transgender community to the point of defending themselves against such horrific actions of a another being. Nasim is a CIS woman and this is still a shocking action for anybody to undertake!

Thoughts and Prayers to those affected by the Shooting @ Youtube HQ, America.

STOP THE BULLYING... My Two Cents!! (March 2018)

For some reason, the term bullying is not always acknowledged in film without whispers and further suffering onto others that might not speak up. Myself, I try always to see both sides to some situations, but in recent years of being on my local film scene full-time, I found it very stressful. I can only speak for my experience, but when it comes to being singled out by bullies or bullying during a line of work you try to enjoy, I experienced it online. Also, others were easily lead by such behaviors. I am still shaky and finding my confidence again to face up to individuals, but I am looking after myself, now. That's a Positive!! If you experience any bullying or negative behavior during work, school or in an environment that you have a social circle to think about... then follow my own tips:

1) Record any social media hate or slander!
2) Report to the Police or higher Authority!
3) Talk to  a loved one!

DO NOT SUFFER IN SILENCE... It will hurt you more to suffer alone with zero support. Thanks... Please, stay safe out there!! And be vigilant towards others that might need extra support! Peace!

Stop the Hate... Support Each Other!!

INTERVIEW: Sordid Secrets... A Talk with: Kaz B!! (Valentine's Day) (February 2018)

Kaz B - Model & Actress has a NEW BOOK Out!!
Happy Valentine's Day, people. It gives me great pleasure to Interview for a second time, the lovely Kaz B. She also has a new book out (HERE) and is a busy lady on the Indie Film Scene and around the UK. Kaz on Twitter - HERE! Kaz is also on Instagram, too - HERE!

1) Tell me a bit about your NEW Book - Sordid Secrets?
Hi Misty, I am so excited about the new book! It’s a story of romance, deceit, betrayal and lust and the story is told from three different character’s points of view. It’s an exploration of sexuality and taboo topics and delves into subjects such as male submission and same gender sex (female to female) outside the confines of a loving relationship. It tackles taboo topics that are still not fully accepted in mainstream society but told from an emotive viewpoint.

I also wanted to create strong female protagonists as many books that cover the kind of alternative material in my book, often objectify women and make them the servants to men. In Sordid Secrets the women are in charge and doing what they do because they want to. It’s female friendly, LGBT friendly and there’s lots of steamy content for the fellas too!

I’ve had a few people proof read and review it and their feedback was that I certainly got them all hot and bothered in the trouser department!

It’s launches on the 28th February where it will be on sale on Amazon, Kobo and on paperback. Put the date in your diaries!

2) Are you still filming on the Indie Film Scene?
Very much so! I’ve been filming for Kasper Lewis’s Rotten Cotton and recently I shot some scenes for an East End gangster movie directed by Benny Bereal. I can’t reveal too much about it at this stage but there will be a trailer out soon!

I am also playing the part of the bad girl in another gangster movie for Netflix. Again, I can’t give too much away but this role is exactly the kind of feisty go-get-em kind of role I love to play! It’s always fun to be the villain-ess!

3) How did you become an Agony Aunt for the Daily Sport?
I had been writing for Men’s Stuff Magazine for some time and got chatting with a contact at The Daily Sport. The owner asked for some pieces on events I was covering and it grew from there. It was suggested that I write a weekly column and we agreed that an Agony Aunt column would be perfect as it allows interactivity with the readership.

I write everything from event coverage, interviews and articles for The Daily Sport and I have a great working relationship with them. If I have an idea and put it to them they are always keen to implement it and publish a great story! The beauty of it as that it allows me a good deal of creative license as they are extremely forward thinking and open to ideas. I have a great deal of respect for them.

4) Any future plans to Write any more books?
Oh yes! Book number 2 is already underway. In next installment, you’ll see a different side to the characters and peer deeply into their psyche. You’ll behold their darkest moments and their fall from grace into depravity. You’ll also see some of their more beautiful moments and get to know them inside out.

I have also started work on a chick flick that a lot of women should be able to relate to as well as a few other pieces. At the moment however, the follow up to Sordid Secrets is my focus.

5) Finally, who have been your favorite Models to work with?
I find loud brash girls that always need to be the centre of attention hard work. You can’t blow some one’s trumpet if they are always blowing it themselves!

I love to work with women who are quietly confident and talk about films, books, ideas and concepts, rather than girls who just shout about themselves. Some of the ladies I have worked with who are lovely inside out and have been a dream to work with would be; one of my long time good friends Amber West, Game Of Thrones Star Masie Dee who is such a sweetheart, the lovely Satine Spark, fitness model Danni Levi and Fitness blogger Tracy Kiss. Oh, and a shout out to my friend Jenna Leigh-Raine who is also a writer and columnist and has one of the purest hearts I’ve known.

When I was younger it was all about fitting in and wanting people to like me. Now it’s a case of whether I like them and whether I want to work with them. With age comes wisdom and maturity. You stop making bad choices and are drawn to the right people, not the people that are shouting the loudest, but the people that actively doing… and with the best intentions.

REVIEW: Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990) - Directed by Joe Dante! (January 2018)

Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990) - UK Blu-Ray Cover!

Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) is a fun film! It was hard to follow up Gremlins (1984) - a Box Office Smash. G2 follows the same story-line, but on a BIGGER scale and sets it in New York City. However, this time, the gags and jokes are exploited in cartoon fashion with High Comedy Values! Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck even turn up in this fun Warner Bros Spin-off/Sequel from 1990. However, the Comedy and Cameos never stop, either... Hulk Hogan, John Wayne and many more make appearances in this sequel, which doesn't take things too serious!

Set in a giant futuristic office building, G2 sees the return of Billy and Kate as they re-unite with the cute little Gizmo character when the furry critter's owner passes away towards the start of the film! It isn't long before our pint-sized hero, Gizmo is exposed to water again and this causes trouble in the big city. New Mogwai and Gremlins are spawned ("NEVER GET THEM WET") - which can only mean chaos for the office building owner, Daniel Clamp and co-workers! The Gremlins are back and have found a mad scientist laboratory owner by a mad professor played by the late, legendary Christopher Lee! The evil creatures are now exposed to experimental potions which turn them all, individually into mutants like Giant Spiders, Electrical Parts, Vegetables and Talking Critters! It's madness, I tell you... MADNESS!! Will Gizmo save the day again with Billy and Kate?

I first saw this film in 1990 on the big screen with my Mum and Cousin that summer! I enjoyed it then, and even more now as the jokes will grow on you! Such a fun film, which has hit Cult Status! There were a few G2 Video-Game spin-offs too on Nes and Gameboy for Nintendo and even on Amiga and Commodore 64 in the day!
