REVIEW: Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990) - Directed by Joe Dante! (January 2018)

Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990) - UK Blu-Ray Cover!

Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) is a fun film! It was hard to follow up Gremlins (1984) - a Box Office Smash. G2 follows the same story-line, but on a BIGGER scale and sets it in New York City. However, this time, the gags and jokes are exploited in cartoon fashion with High Comedy Values! Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck even turn up in this fun Warner Bros Spin-off/Sequel from 1990. However, the Comedy and Cameos never stop, either... Hulk Hogan, John Wayne and many more make appearances in this sequel, which doesn't take things too serious!

Set in a giant futuristic office building, G2 sees the return of Billy and Kate as they re-unite with the cute little Gizmo character when the furry critter's owner passes away towards the start of the film! It isn't long before our pint-sized hero, Gizmo is exposed to water again and this causes trouble in the big city. New Mogwai and Gremlins are spawned ("NEVER GET THEM WET") - which can only mean chaos for the office building owner, Daniel Clamp and co-workers! The Gremlins are back and have found a mad scientist laboratory owner by a mad professor played by the late, legendary Christopher Lee! The evil creatures are now exposed to experimental potions which turn them all, individually into mutants like Giant Spiders, Electrical Parts, Vegetables and Talking Critters! It's madness, I tell you... MADNESS!! Will Gizmo save the day again with Billy and Kate?

I first saw this film in 1990 on the big screen with my Mum and Cousin that summer! I enjoyed it then, and even more now as the jokes will grow on you! Such a fun film, which has hit Cult Status! There were a few G2 Video-Game spin-offs too on Nes and Gameboy for Nintendo and even on Amiga and Commodore 64 in the day!

Well, the next one is the big one, THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS ZOMBIES, the first feature film I’m going to produce. We start shooting in a little over a week, so all buzzing with excitement and knee-deep in preparations ;) The story is basically a woman welcoming her ex into her house, totally oblivious to the fact that he’s actually a zombie, and her husband, who has killed that very same ex in the first place, is understandably less than thrilled. Eirian Cohen stars as the woman, with Rudy Barrow being her husband, Rami Hilmi the zombie ex, and we have guest appearances by US horror icons Debra Lamb and Lynn Low…

Review: "I'm A Gun!" (2017) - Directed by Mikeal Burgin!! (October 2017)

Intense short film I'm A Gun (2017) is directed, written and edited by Mikeal Burgin. It's a ten minute film narrated by a Hitman who is killing off his Prey in the City. It has got a slight Tarantino feel in it's approach with a bit of dark humor and obvious Violence! It features a few twists here and there - featuring some bad language and intense drama scenes, too! For Mature Audiences, Only!

I really enjoyed I'm A Gun! The soundtrack was killer towards the end and keeps you on your toes. Burgin is a crafty film maker dipping into genres which takes the audience on a wild, unpredictable ride throughCinema Craftiness!

Plot:"A gun-for-hire accepts a shady contract targeting a beautiful and deadly woman. When the mark's disabled brother gets in the way, the job quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival inside a den of madness and brutality.".

RIP Debra Mayer: (1969 - 2015) (May 2015)

It's a sad day, there is a rumor of the passing of Full Moon Entertainment actresses passing. She played in Blood Dolls (1999), Voodoo Academy (2002) and other films.
Director Charles Band posted the following on Facebook: "I am so saddened by the news of Debra Mayer passing away. She was a very talented actress and extremely devoted to her craft. Debra was in several Full Moon films and I have many fond memories of her excellent work in Dr. Moreau’sHouse of Pain and especially Blood Dolls. She was extremely devoted to her career and left behind an impressive body of work that many admire, and I only hope she is able to somehow observe the outpouring of love and affection for the films she was in and the characters she played by the many fans who followed her. May she truly rest in peace.".

Another friend of hers, J.R. Bookwalter also wrote on the social media site: "Stunned to hear about the sudden passing of Debra Mayer, who I first met during post-production on…
